The Energy Biz Leadership Forum took place today in Washington, D.C. and CSTV was there for full coverage for the first day of this two-day event. Today's events focused around setting the stage for a radical shift in today's energy reality. Dan Reicher, Director of Climate Change and Energy Initiaitves for Google.org gave this morning's Keynote Presentation. He discussed the importance of building a smart grid and bringing information technology to the grid. "I'm interested in results of energy use, not energy itself," he said. Reicher also touched on geothermal energy in the United States saying that much progress needs to be made, but the fundamentals are there. Meanwhile, CSTV's Tyler Suiters had an exclusive sit-down interview with T. Boone Pickens, Founder and Chairman of BP Capital Management. Mr. Pickens gave today's Lunch Keynote Address. The two discussed the evolution of Picken's agenda, "The Pickens Plan" and his push to replace natural gas with wind on the electric grid in order to free up more natural gas for the transportation sector.
