The island nation of Maldives is looking to the wind to meet its climate change goals. The country has signed a 20-year deal with Falcon Energy of Texas to build and operate a 75 megawatt wind farm on the island by mid 2011.
Falcon will invest $200 million into the project expected to provide 40% of the energy needs of the island. GE will provide 30 large wind turbines...
