Senate Panel Pushes for Smaller, Modular Reactors to Boost Nuclear Industry

Experts told a Senate panel today that smaller reactors of 300 megawatts or less may hold the key to sparking a nuclear revival in the U.S., just as the country may depend on more nuclear power to offset coal-fired power plants in an era of cap and trade.
