NOAA Gets $5.6B Increase for More Climate Satellites

President Obama is asking for more satellites to study climate change, and better resources to address the impacts.

The president's 2011 budget seeks $5.6 billion for the National Oceanographic and Atmospheric Administration, a 17% increase over the current year's administration budget.

The breakdown: $2.2-billion to satellite services, with half of that for the new Joint Polar Satellite...
